The CIO Summithas become the biggest day of the year for the CIO UK title and we are already in the foothills of planning the 2012 event. What I can tell you is to mark the 27th of September for the 2012 CIO Summit. The Langham Hotelopposite the BBC HQ is the home for this year’s event. Now in its third year the CIO Summit will give you the CIO reader the opportunity to debate with speakers and peers; network and share your experiences. It has always been my aim that this event is about the CIO community. Open only to CIOs and business technology leaders, this year’s event will discuss the CIO role in organisational culture change, the deployment of mobile devices, Agile methodology in business and IT, and many more business technology leadership issues. Keynote speakers that have already agreed to speak will reveal how they built and delivered one of the largest infrastructure projects in peace-time UK and the CIO’s role in leading a cross-organisation transformation that involved marketing, business processes, client and customer management and of course technology. CIOs from a wide variety and sizes of organisations will discuss the vital importance of research and development, entrepreneurial spirit, embracing consumerisation and social media, building a .com business in Britain and the benefits of global standards in technology platforms. As I said, we are just at the foothills of the enjoyable yomp to the peak of the Summit. I may have the job title of Editor in Chief for the various CIO titles, but it’s your title and I welcome ideas and input from the CIO community. If you have a burning issue you’d like to present and discuss with your peers, do contact me on: mark_chillingworth@idg.co.uk or on Twitter @mchillingworth using #ciosummit. I look forward to seeing you all on September 27th.
