Westpac unveils IT scholarships as part of $100M program

Westpac Australia has announced funding for up to 40 three-year IT undergraduate scholarships from 2015 as part of a $100 million education program.

The lt;igt;Young Technologistslt;/igt; program is designed to encourage gender diversity in IT. Successful recipients will receive $15,000 over three years to help support their undergraduate studies in technology.

  • The first Young Technologists scholarships will be available from 2015.

    Undergraduate students who want to apply for a scholarship need to be an Australian citizen or permanent resident enrolled full-time in an undergraduate technology degree at a participating Australian university. These universities are: The University of Sydney, Melbourne and Wollongong.

    According to Westpac’s website, more announcements will be made about new partnerships with Australian universities and scholarship launch dates, over “the coming months.”
