National Australia Bank (NAB) has promoted three women in its technology and NextGen core banking transformation groups as it looks to improve diversity in the divisions. NAB’s head of technology, enterprise applications and data services, Dayle Stevens, is now support services technology general manager at the bank. The bank’s NextGen direct bank deployment program director, Lisa Palma, has been promoted to technology workplace service management general manager. Please enter a valid email address Subscribe And, NAB’s head of portfolio services and transformation, Nicole Devine, is now program office and commercial management general manager. The three women are based in Melbourne. What’s stopping young women from taking up a career in IT? 5 women who’ve made it in IT NAB plans customer migration to NextGen platform NAB’s enterprise services and transformation group executive, Lisa Gray, said the appointments are designed to break the misconception that technology is a “male-only world”. “As we continue to deliver our technology transformation to meet the changing needs of our customers, it is important that our business reflects the diverse community in which we operate,” Gray said in a statement. She added that IT offers “great flexibility, challenging jobs and rewarding pay” for women. In addition, Gray said that NAB has a workplace commitment to promote more women into senior executive roles. Currently, 23 per cent of its top executives are women and it wants this percentage to be 33 per cent by 2015. Fifty per cent of NAB’s 2014 graduate intake program are women while the other 50 per cent are male.
