DAZN SVP of IT Services, Georgina Owens

Georgina Owen is SVP of IT Services at DAZN, one of the largest sports streaming services in the world, despite it only launching in August 2016.

Owens was previously at Vodafone as Head of Process Transformation, and Head of Servicedesk and Infrastructure Service line prior to that. She is now responsible for platform architecture, supporting applications, corporate systems and data analytics systems at DAZN.

In a recent interview with CIO UK, Owen described the scalability of the infrastructure that enables DAZN to stream sports content to millions of viewer simultaneously across the globe.

Haymarket Group CTO, Richard Harding

Richard Harding is CTO at Haymarket Media Group, having been at the firm for almost two and a half years.

In this time, he and his team have had lots of successes including the creation of a digital platform to attract and build engagement of visitors to online car reviews site WhatCar?

Prior to his role at Haymarket, Harding was at data specialists StreamHub for seven years as a non-executive director, and interim CIO for a short period.

Auto Trader Technology Director, Chris Kelly

Auto Trader Technology Director, Chris Kelly

As Technology Director of Auto Trader, Chris Kelly has been overseeing the migration of all the online car marketplace’s digital services to the cloud, in a massive project that has been ongoing since 2018.

Its hosting platform has already seen impressive results from this, including reduced deployment times from 10 minutes to 20 seconds, as well as improved security and streamlined costings.

Kelly has been with Auto Trader for 21 years in total, with five of those as Technology Director. Prior to that, Kelly spent time in different development and architectural roles within the firm.

Global Radio CTO, David Henderson

Global Radio CTO, David Henderson

David Henderson tookthe top spot in the 2018 CIO 100 in recognition of his work on Global Radio’s programmatic Digital Audio Exchange advertising platform, using tech to reduce broadcasting errors and championing diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Henderson joined Global after stints as the Chief Operating Officer at Jobsite and Group CIO at Daily Mail. The technologist holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Portsmouth and an MBA from Warwick Business School.

News UK CTO, Christina Scott

Christina Scott earned a return to the upper echelons of the CIO 100 in 2018 for her role in introducing a new approach to product development, finding new revenues through data science, overhauling the IT infrastructure, and driving cultural change at News UK.

Scott was appointed CTO at News UK in February 2016 and reports directly to CEO Rebekah Brooks. Her previous roles include those of Chief Product and Information Officer at the Financial Times and has also SVP of Technology at Pearson Professional, Programme Director at BT and General Manager of Future Media and Technology at the BBC.

Ascential CIO, Sean Harley

Ascential CIO, Sean Harley

Sean Harley was appointed CIO at Ascential in December 2012. Since then, he’s played a key role in Ascential’s February 2016 IPO and led a digital strategy that has kept the business-to-business media company on the cutting edge of tech.

Recent innovations introduced by Harley include deploying iBeacon wearables to manage over 2,500 speakers and 500 VIPs at 18 events, launched the Ascential Operating Platform, which helps the company quickly roll out new products such as digital colour tool Coloro.

Telegraph Media Group CIO, Chris Taylor

Telegraph Media Group CIO Chris Taylor is responsible for leading the broadsheet newspaper proprietor into the digital future by introducing innovations such as AI for content recommendations and facilitating change through full-scale adoption of the cloud.

He joined the Telegraph after four years working for its rival News UK, where he was moved from CIO to COO in July 2013, while continuing to lead IT operations. The next year, Taylor helped News UK return to profit for the first time in 13 years.
