Kim Hammonds CIO at Deutsche Bank recruits Michael Grimaldi

Financial services group Deutsche Bank has hired Michael Grimaldi from Goldman Sachs as CIO for its corporate banking and securities and global transaction banking division.

Grimaldi will join Deutsche Bank in the third quarter of 2014. He has been at Goldman Sachs for 20 years in a range of roles, including EMEA regional CIO and head of technology.

Grimaldi was most recently partner and global head of securities division technology, where he was responsible for all technology relating to fixed income, currencies and commodities, equities, prime services, clearing, sales and core services.

Before joining Goldman Sachs, Grimaldi worked in mobile telecoms research and development at GTE Government Systems.

Grimaldi will be based in London and report to Deutsche Bank’s global CIO and global co-head of group technology and operations, Kim Hammonds, and her co-head Jim Turley.

Hammondssaid in press release: “Michael combines a broad and deep knowledge of corporate and investment banking with outstanding leadership and technical skills. His expertise will help us continue to develop a world-class IT platform and drive closer alignment between technology and the businesses.”

Hammonds joined Deutsche Bank last year from aircraft manufacturer Boeing, where she was also CIO. She took over from Anthony McCarthy, who left the bank to “pursue other career opportunities”.
