Mobile apps are perhaps the holy grail for a big retailer like Westfield to improve the experience for shoppers who visit retail stores while helping internal leasing and shopping centre staff to do their jobs better.

Peter Bourke, CIO at Westfield was a panellist at our inaugural CIO Insights dinner on April 11. He discusses how the retailer has worked with Google to create an app to help people locate and navigate shopping centres.

He also outlines Westfield’s stance on consumer privacy and how the property group’s IT department works with its marketing teams to create these compelling apps.
