Infrastructure supporting Transpower New Zealand’s national electricity grid and high voltage transmission network will now be managed and monitored by UXC Red Rock Consulting.

UXC Red Rock’s multi-year arrangement is for the monitoring and support of all of Transpower’s Oracle databases, Microsoft SQL databases, Oracle application middleware servers and mid-range servers, including consulting and project services for implementing these technologies.

Cobus Nel, general manager, information services and technology at Transpower, says UXC Red Rock already provides critical applications support for the organisation, and the partnership will now cover database and mid-range server support.

UXC Red Rock’s services will be delivered via a hybrid onsite-offsite model and will support the existing environments operated by Transpower as well as planning for growth, design and implementation of any change to these environments.

UXC Red Rock has a 15 year history of managing application support for Transpower.

“We understand the business imperatives Transpower works to and the required synergies between development and operations,” says Jonathan Rubinsztein, CEO, UXC Red Rock.

“Our aim is to achieve the right service and business results for Transpower,” says Rubinsztein. “And we will do so under an innovative and mutually beneficial approach to partnering where we are measured by success of agreed joint outcomes.”
