Kiwi IT executive Andy Shields has been appointed director information systems for Enghouse Systems based in Toronto, Canada. Before this, he was group IT manager at Beca for more than five years. He worked as an independent consultant prior to joining Enghouse Systems, the Toronto public company that acquired Zeacom in 2012. I have a global role responsible for a number of key business improvement projects, introducing quality standards and industry best practices, and ultimately creating a third generation computing platform built on mobility, cloud services, and social technologiesAndy Shields, Enghouse Systems Shields says Enghouse operates in three vertical markets – software development; communications software, networking and visualisation solutions, and transportation solutions. It has offices across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific and has a very strong acquisition growth strategy. “I have a global role responsible for a number of key business improvement projects, introducing quality standards and industry best practices, and ultimately creating a third generation computing platform built on mobility, cloud services, and social technologies,” Shields tells CIO New Zealand. “Enghouse is an organisation that grows both organically and rapidly through acquisitions, so my greatest challenge is delivering a consistent and stable IT environment while meeting the needs of the newly acquired organisations.” Send news tips and comments to divina_paredes@idg.co.nz Follow Divina Paredes on Twitter: @divinap Follow CIO New Zealand on Twitter:@cio_nz Sign up for CIO newsletters for regular updates on CIO news, views and events.
