Weather service provider MetService has begun advertising for the position of Chief Information Officer, with the Wellington-based role set to build on the organisation’s newly transformed IT division.

In a recent advertisement, MetService stated that as well as having an established technology background, the successful applicant must also push the boundaries of creativity.

“In this friendly, open and collaborative environment, the focus is on pushing creative and technological boundaries,” the advertisement stated.

Other requirements of the role stated in the advertisement include the successful candidate needing to have experience in an agile applications development environment and leadership experience in a technical ICT environment.

The advertisement for the role of CIO is one of the first of its kind to appear this year, with the New Zealand-based organisation kick starting CIO job applications for 2011.
