The Western Australia Department of Housing has signed a new $11.3 million contract with ASG Group (ASX: ASZ) for IT managed services.

The five-year contract includes server and storage management, database support, service management of IT assets, security and support for Microsoft Exchange and BizTalk. These will be delivered out of ASG’s Perth office.

According to ASG’s managing director, Geoff Lewis, these services will improve the capacity of the department’s IT systems, allowing it to scale up or down according to business needs.

ASG first provided IT services to the WA Department of Housing over five years ago.

In June, the company announced that the WA Department of Education would spend $14.89 million modernising its technology infrastructure after signing a five-year contract for new licenses and support services.

Under the contract, ASG is providing the department with strategic support and a “licensing modernisation solution” based on Oracle technology. ASG has been supplying finance, HR and payroll managed services and project services to the department since 2006.

According to ASG, it is close to finalising an additional $50 million worth of tender agreements with a range of Australian customers.
