The NSW government’s Roads and Maritime Services (RMS), a merger between the Roads and Traffic Authority and NSW Maritime, is looking for a CIO to integrate ICT services and initiatives across multiple transport agencies.

Sandra Coleman is acting CIO for RMS and has been in that role since September 2011, according to her LinkedIn profile. It is unclear whether the acting CIO will be appointed to the role or an external candidate.

“The vision of RMS is to be the public sector leader in the management and delivery of safe, efficient and high quality services and infrastructure to the community and businesses of NSW,” said a spokesperson for RMS.

“To deliver on this vision and RMS’ strategic plan, RMS has embarked on a process of realignment to deliver better value for money to taxpayers via increased efficiency, smarter work practices and the delivery of subsequent cost savings.”

The new CIO will work with the group CIO of Transport for NSW, Tim Catley, to develop and executive an IT strategy for the realignment, the spokesperson said.

The role is based in Sydney’s North Shore and Northern Beaches area.

Applications close on 8 March 2013.
