The NSW Department of Family and Community Services has appointed Tim Hume, from the state’s department of health, to the role of CIO. Hume held the role of director of strategy and planning for Health Support Services (HSS) for about 12 months and is due to take up his new post on 13 January, 2012. HSS chief executive, Mike Rillstone, said Hume had helped direct and plan the ICT program for HSS through every stage from business case to go-live. “In particular, he has been responsible for managing the consolidation of the Program Management Office (PMO), reviewing the way we deliver our services, and better integrating program planning, delivery and operations into a more streamlined and productive model,” Rillstone said in a statement. “He was also responsible for working closely with consultancy group KPMG, providing advice to the Executive on work underway to review business, pricing and customer service models.” Hume also previously held the role of CIO with The Wine Society, as well as management roles with Qantas and George Weston Foods. The agency has started the recruitment process to find Hume’s replacement.
