Lottery and gaming company, Tatts Group, has appointed Mandy Ross as its new CIO. Ross has replaced Stephen Lawrie, who quit his post as CIO, a position he held since 1999. Ross is now leading the group’s technology team and operations, which employs 350 staff. In this role, she will develop the organisation’s long-term technology and digital strategic roadmap, the company said on Monday afternoon. Ross joined Tatts Group in January 2013 as head of technology transformation and process improvement and has more than 15 years experience in IT. She was CIO at Wotif Group (leading a team of 150 IT staff), CTO at the Literacy Planet startup, and worked as a consultant at Deloitte in Melbourne. Tatts Group CEO, Robbie Cooke, said in a statement: “Having worked with the Group over the last year Mandy has had the opportunity to closely observe our IT and digital processes, systems and structures in operation while undertaking her technology transformation role, and is perfectly placed to hit the ground running.’ ‘With a diverse and varied IT career Mandy has a depth of IT and managerial experience, coupled with a deep understanding, knowledge and exposure to a wide variety of systems, practices and technologies. “All of which positions Mandy perfectly to navigate us through what is going to be a very exciting next stage in Tatts’ technology journey,” Cooke said. Ross won the ‘CIO of the Year’ award in 2012 at the national iAwards, and was appointed by the Queensland Government in 2014 as an advisory member to its Science and Innovation Advisory Council.
