Malcolm Thatcher completed his last day today as chief health information officer at Queensland Health, a position he held for the past 12 months. In a post on LinkedIn on Friday afternoon, Thatcher said he would now pursue a doctoral thesis in IT governance and would return to Mater Health Services in the New Year. Thatcher was executive director, information and infrastructure and CIO at Mater Health Services between February 2012 and September 2014. He was CIO at Mater Health Services in Brisbane between March 2004 and January 2012. “I’d like to offer a warm and sincere thank you to all those in industry who have supported me in this role over the last twelve months. It has been a great experience and I am hopeful of leaving a few small footprints behind for the new chief executive of eHealth Queensland to track against,” he said in his LinkedIn post. “I would also like to thank all the wonderful Queensland Health folk I have worked with, without whom I could not have created those footprints.” Follow CIO Australia on Twitter and Like us on Facebook… Twitter: @CIO_Australia, Facebook: CIO Australia, or take part in the CIO conversation on LinkedIn: CIO Australia Follow Byron Connolly on Twitter:@ByronConnolly Related content opinion Website spoofing: risks, threats, and mitigation strategies for CIOs In this article, we take a look at how CIOs can tackle website spoofing attacks and the best ways to prevent them.
