Queensland Government agency, the Public Trustee is calling for candidates to fill the role of CIO. The Brisbane-based role will oversee the development and implementation of information service, strategic and operational plans and establish future IT direction and services. The new CIO will provide leadership and manage resources efficiently and effectively to support the ICT needs of the agency to meet goals and objectives. The successful candidate will report to the executive director of corporate services and also partake in discussions and negotiations with the executive management team. The agency has cited a salary of $$109,674 to $120,324 per annum for the role. This places the role in the lower remuneration bracket for a CIO; according to the 2010 Australian State of the CIO survey, the median salary for a CIO is $231,000. Just 7.7 per cent of respondents to the survey indicated a total annual compensation of between $100.001 and $125,000. Applications close 11 May 2011.
