Commonwealth Bank CIO and group executive, enterprise services Michael Harte has just made it into BRW’s Executive Rich List for 2014. The well-known CIO took 98th position on the list of 100 wealthiest bosses at ASX-listed companies. Harte’s total remuneration for 2013 was $7 million and he was the only IT chief to make the list. It’s no surprise that Harte made the list. Last October, he shelled out $4.2 million (2.9 million Euros) for a private island called Isola Budelli in the Mediterranean between Sardinia and Corsica. He gained permission to rebuild three existing building on the island for conservation science research. However, one month later, the Italian government moved to allow the state to buy back the island after a politician collected 85,000 signatures protesting its sale.
