Former ANZ Bank CIO, Anne Weatherston, has joined the board of ASX-listed mobile payment company Mint Wireless.

Weatherston, who quit her post at ANZ in April, will serve as an independent non-executive director on Mint Wireless’ board.

Mint Wirless chairman Alex Teoh said Anne brings a wealth of experience within the financial sector, strong leadership and a solid track record of managing large-scale core banking, technology and transformation projects.

“Anne also has excellent knowledge and strong connections in the financial services sector in the Asia-Pacific region,” he said.

Weatherston was CIO at ANZ Bank for four years. During this time, she implemented private cloud infrastructure and helped establish the bank’s Toward 2017 strategy

This strategy provides cross-regional customer services, and integrates systems and applications that are scaled and used across regional businesses. The strategy also includes the use of real-time business analytics across the bank.

Prior to ANZ, Weatherston was CIO at the Bank of Ireland for four years. During that time, she was responsible for delivering IT across the bank’s business units, including the UK Post Office, and the Bank’s international investment companies.
