AMP CIO retires

Long-standing AMP CIO, Lee Barnett, is retiring after 18 years at the company, including 12 in her existing role.

Barnett is being replaced by Craig Ryman, the company’s IT director, product and advice, on January 1 next year, AMP said.

Barnett joined AMP in 1996 and has lead the organisation’s IT, project services, sourcing and facilities management functions during a period of considerable industry change, AMP said.

She oversaw the technology integration of AXA’s Australian and New Zealand businesses and the de-merger of AMP’s UK business.

“Lee Barnett has been instrumental in helping to shape AMP’s transformation of our core Australian business,” said AMP CEO Craig Meller.

“This embraces our ongoing customer-driven focus and cements our position as the leading independent wealth management company in Australia and New Zealand.”

Ryman slips into the new role at a time when AMP is transforming its core Australian business with a new operating model and mobile platforms, which were announced at the group’s half year financial results in Australia.

Ryman joined AMP in 1997 and became IT director in 2009 when he was appointed as IT director for AMP Capital Investors.

Prior to this, he completed transformation initiatives for AMP’s customer services area and corporate superannuation business, AMP said.
