Victoria Legal Aid is on the hunt for a CIO with social media knowledge and a creative approach in addition to the traditional CIO skillsets.

The new executive will head up projects such as an investment in call centre applications and electronic document management.

“As the CIO, you will be responsible for taking the Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) functions forward,” the advertisement for the role states.

“With planned investments in call centre telephony, electronic document management systems, business intelligence reporting, internet and social networking technologies funded or under active consideration.”

The role will form a major part of Victoria Legal Aid’s senior management team, based in Melbourne’s CBD, according to the agency.

The CIO will be responsible for overseeing ICT operations at the business, which has an organisation wide turnover of $150 million and 500 staff members, with the CIO being rewarded with a negotiable salary package of up to $140,000.

The advertisement comes as Seek’s CIO, Carey Eaton, resigned earlier this month.
