Macquarie Group has hired a Barclays senior tech executive as its new CIO, the company confirmed on Thursday. Justin Raoul Moffitt has spent 18 years in various technology roles at the investment bank most recently as Asia-Pacific CIO, based in Singapore responsible for technology teams across the region, and an off-shore development centre in Pune, India. Prior to Barclays, he spent two years as a developer and database administrator at Gulliver in Dublin, Ireland, a subsidiary of the Irish Tourist Board. Moffitt replaces former Macquarie CIO Joe Barker, who left the company in February after a two year stint in the role. He will join Macquarie Group in February 2016 and will be based in Sydney.
