According to the NSW Trains head of IT job advertisement, the successful applicant will lead the development and delivery of IT systems, programs and services while providing input into organisational strategy and policy. “As head of IT, you will also build workforce competency and coordinate a professionally diverse team,” read the advertisement. In-depth knowledge of current developments in IT management and their application in a commercial environment is essential. Candidates will also need to demonstrate extensive senior management experience in delivering best practice IT strategies and customer-focussed solutions.
