The Department of Sport and Recreation in Western Australia is on a hunt for a CIO with experience in developing and implementing strategic business-ICT initiatives.

The right candidate will also need experience in risk management and will lead a small team at the Perth-based department, according to an advertisement on Seek. The job is paying between $116,667 to $126,719 per annum, plus superannuation.

The appointed CIO will be required to undergo a national police check, as per the DSR Employment Suitability Checks Policy, the department said.

“As part of our development and training framework the department will ensure the CIO remains abreast of emerging trends and contemporary information management practices,” read the advertisement.

Candidates who are unsuccessful may also be given the opportunity to take on similar positions as they arise in the next 12 months, according to the advertisement.
