ASX-listed pet product and veterinary services business, Greencross Limited has poached APG Co tech boss, Paul Kennedy as its first CIO.

Kennedy had been with APG Co since January 2014 and told CIO he had been headhunted out of the role.

“It’s a better opportunity, a larger company, more investment, that sort of thing,” he said.

Greencross, which runs more than 200 retail stores, grew significantly last financial year with the company reporting revenue of $644.5 million in FY2015, up 45 per cent on the year earlier. The company also said it grew its online business by 80 per cent.

Prior to APG Co, Kennedy spent three years as programme manager, online at John Lewis in the UK, and two years as chief technology officer at wexphotographic.com.
