The federal government’s Ahead of the Game: Blueprint for Reform is the polar opposite of the much talked about Gershon report of 2008 according to analyst, Kevin Noonan.

The Ovum analyst said while the 2008 report has instructed IT professionals on how to do business in government, Ahead of the Game: Blueprint for Reform looks at how government services should be delivered in the future.

“The blueprint itself is really the flip side of the Gershon report.”

“Gershon was really looking at efficiencies based on the existing way we do business in government, whereas this report really stands back and looks at how government needs to be delivered in the 21st century,” he said.

Noonan also said Ahead of the Game will have great implications for those working in the IT industry.
