Energy procurement and management provider Energy Action has appointed Mathews George as the company’s inaugural CIO. Previously CIO of MetLife Insurance Limited, George will be responsible for IT strategy and setting the future architecture of the company, “while delivering regular product releases and IT upgrades”, the company said. “I am very excited to be joining a dynamic company such as Energy Action in the role of CIO, and I look forward to working closely with all to deliver superior outcomes for our clients through best?of?breed technology and services. When our clients think about their energy needs, they should think of Energy Action,” said George who starts on June 14. I am confident that in the role of CIO he will keep Energy Action at the forefront of innovation and technology.” George had been at MetLife since 2006 following five years as a consultant at Oracle Financial Services. MetLife Australia appointed former Woolworths head of technology, Tim Batten as its CIO in July.
