NSW Health seeks CIO for southern district

NSW Health has advertised for a chief information officer for the Southern NSW Local Health District.

The geographically dispersed district encompasses 12 facilities, stretching south from Crookwell in the Southern Tablelands to Delegate, just north of Victoria.

The permanent position is classified by Health Service Manager Level 5 by the department. Governed by the relevant award, the salary will start from $126,000.

The CIO can be based at Albury, Goulburn, Queanbeyan or Wagga Wagga, and the position will involve travel. Currently IT is delivered as a hosted service managed by Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

The role is responsible for IT across the whole district, servicing its Local Districts, and has to “lead the planning and implementation of enterprise information systems to support both distributed and centralised clinical and business operations and achieve more effective and cost beneficial enterprise-wide IT operations,” the advertisement said.

The CIO will be responsible for approval and control of IT acquisitions for the district.
