The Bank of Queensland has confirmed that its current chief information officer, Jim Stabback, is leaving Australia to join Westpac New Zealand in Auckland next month.

He has previously held senior positions at Telstra, including executive director in consumer business and director of business customer service, before joining the bank in September 2008.

Stabback will assume the new role of customer and technology services general manager on March 14, where he will replace Westpac technology executive, David Boyes, who left the bank late last year.

Stabback was contacted for comment by CIO Australia but has not responded at the time of writing.

In March last year, the Bank of Queensland made changes to its IT infrastructure to consolidate gains made under its Project Pathways program. The program enabled the bank to reduce its cost-to-income ratio to 49.9 per cent.
