ME has restructured its IT team less than a month after announcing the completion of its five-year technology rebuild. The mobile and online bank said it is now moving into its ‘post-technology transformation’ phase and has created five new IT leadership roles – filling three with external candidates. Samantha Macleod, the former IT risk solutions leader at GE Capital, has joined ME as GM cyber security, responsible for security, risk and governance. Kate Luxmoore is the new GM, infrastructure and operations, responsible for defining, implementing and supporting operations. Luxmoore has also moved across from GE Capital where she was most recently digital and transformation leader, data. Danny Cheong steps into the role of GM business solutions, charged with implementing a strategy for delivering software support to the bank. Shane Kuret, the new GM, strategy and architecture, has been working for ME for the past eight years, most recently as transformation program manager. He is responsible for technology planning and governance, enterprise and solution architecture, and managing strategic vendor relationships. The bank is still looking to fill the role of GM, data. It wants a candidate with proven leadership working with financial services data in a role that will focus on designing and implementing enterprise-wide governance and utilisation of data. ME’s $90 million IT transformation allows the bank to maintain a single record for its 320,000 customers and supports its transition to a becoming a completely digital organisation. The bank closed it branch network 18 months ago.
