TOLL IS NEW Zealand’s largest domestic freight forwarder, offering end-to-end transport services and logistics systems.

These services are provided by its eight businesses operating within New Zealand.

Japan Post acquired Toll’s businesses operations in New Zealand and Australia, but is retaining the brand name.

Allister Lowe, group ICT manager at Toll New Zealand, says the company is investing in big data/business intelligence and analytics software this year. Other projects in the pipeline are smartphone barcode scanning systems and deployment of videoconferencingas- a-service.

Lowe says a standout ICT project in the past year was Toll’s transition from owned infrastructure with Vodafone (formerly TelstraClear) to non-owned infrastructure ‘as-a-service model’ with Vodafone and Datacom.

He says the ICT transformation project is part of a five-year contract with Vodafone and Datacom.

Lowe says Toll will also have major investments around mobile, application modernisation and customer experience technologies.
