With expertise across various aspects of cyber law, Mali has over two decades of experience in the industry and is the author of several books. 

Advocate Prashant Mali is the founder and president of Cyber Law Consulting, a specialized law firm and the Chairman of Cyber and Law Foundation, an NGO. He is also a legal counsel at Bombay High Court for criminal and civil matters. With a wealth of 20 years of experience, he also trains professors, judges, police, military on electronic evidence, cybercrime, cyber laws, privacy and cybersecurity.

At CIO Year Ahead 2018, Mali hopes to enlighten the country’s top IT heads on how to protect enterprise data in today’s parameter free environment.

His priority clients include Aditya Birla Group, RBI, Deloitte and NSE. Mali has received several awards and recognitions including the “Cyber Law & Cyber Security Lawyer of the Year: 2014” by Indian National Bar Association.

He has also conducted numerous workshops on cyber law, and cybercrime for Siemens, Maharashtra Police, NASSCOM, Indian Air Force and UGC.

Additionally, he has authored several books on cyber laws and cybercrime in English, Hindi and Marathi, and regularly contributes to a horde of forums and publications like CTO Forum, CA Journal, India Today and DataQuest. His writings focus on cyber law, cyber crime, privacy law, econtracts, software piracy, data theft, digital signatures,mobile security, cloud computing as well as other cyber issues.

Mali was invited by Oxford University to present a paper on Cyber terrorism & International Law,” and has won several noteworthy cases under the IT Law. He has been a panelist and speaker at many notable national and international seminars and conferences across the country. 

His educational qualifications include a Masters in Computer Science, Masters in Law and a PG certificate in “Cyber Defence and Information Assurance, Cyber Security, Cyber Defence, Cyber Forensics and Cyber Warfare.”
