Dean-Admin and professor of Corporate Strategy and Policy at IIM, Bangalore, S Raghunath specializes in areas of strategic alliance and strategic leadership. 

S Raghunath who is the dean of admin and professor of Corporate Strategy and Policy at Indian Institution of Management, Bangalore will be delivering a talk on the Cloud doubt: How to keep pace with business in a cloud environment at CIO 18 The Year Ahead on November 22.

In the past few years, we have seen most organizations have rushed to adopt cloud. It is further estimated that India will spend USD 1.8 billion for cloud services by the end of the current year.  The growth can be further understood by the fact that the public cloud services market in India is projected to grow 38 percent in 2017. It is also estimated that by the end of 2018, the figures will reach $2.5 billion.

However, while Cloud is the engine of enterprise innovation, it continues to pose threats and fear of breaches. Raghunath will talk to CIO’s regarding the threats posed by Cloud, the correct adoption of cloud based on the kind of data and adopting appropriate governance and security measures to protect sensitive data in the cloud.

The professor specializes in strategic alliances and strategic leadership. He teaches post-graduate and doctoral courses in Alliance Management, Strategic Networks and Corporate Strategy and leads IIM-B executive programs on Strategic Issues in Alliances, Acquisitions, Negotiations, Strategic Leadership of IT companies and Business Management Program for Media and Entertainment Industry.

He was a visiting scholar at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University (1990-1991) where he engaged in research in strategy making in IT companies.  He has also been visiting professor at colleges such as INSEAD, France; HEC Paris; EuroMed, Marseilles; University of Buckingham, UK; RMIT School of Business; Melbourne, Australia.
