Thanks to the Internet, we now have dedicated sources for almost everything – science, arts, business, fashion – and it shouldn’t be surprising that there are websites dedicated solely to data centers. Here’s a list of five such websites you should follow for all your queries about data centers:
Perhaps the most sought after source for data center related news, analysis and advancements, Data Center Knowledge has been around since 2005. The site debuted on YouTube in 2008 and also hosts an annual event called the Data Center World, which brings together vendors and IT managers to discuss and debate advances in technology.
Founded in 2003, the Data Center Journal addresses daily operations, business and design of data centers. It also has a wide range of whitepapers including infrastructure, virtualization and green computing, as well as its own magazine.
The Data Center Post began with a post by Bob Kelly in July 2010 and has grown into a full-fledged site with contributions from senior IT executives and industry experts. They describe themselves as a ‘timeless beacon’ for the data center industry.
A publication of TechTarget’s IT Knowledge Exchange, this is a dedicated data center blog with news, commentary and insights from experts about management, facilities and servers. It was started in 2011 but isn’t updated as frequently as you would want it to be.
Another blog by TechTarget, this site covers trends like converged infrastructure, virtualization, cloud computing, and capacity planning. It also offers insight into project-related queries and features videos and photo stories as well.
If you have any expertise in this space and want to contribute, head over to Data Center Professionals, a worldwide network of data center experts and professionals—or you could just start your own blog!
