For 2016 and beyond, enterprise collaboration would be one of the key engines to steer and power the digital economy in India, say experts. Digitization is changing the way offices function and employees interact, there is no doubt that CIOs will keep demanding for robust collaboration platforms. Sanjeev Kumar, director & CIO, ApOn India and Subramanyam Putrevu, CIO, Mindtree, both believe that in 2016 enterprise social platform as a technology will catch up and gather even more momentum as they feel it will ultimately become a valuable business enabler. Kumar believes that implementation of such platforms will catch up in 2016 as there will be many cloud based adoption transition towards enterprise class collaboration. Putrevu sights that the way ahead for enterprise collaboration will availability of the platform in more than one or two devices or in other words it will cease to being only laptop or desktop based. For organizations that are yet to harness the power of enterprise collaboration; they need to identify their existing investments, processes and their business and user needs,” Gaurav Sharma, research manager, enterprise computing, IDC India says. Sharma also adds that for organizations that are already on this path, they need to move to a more evolved tiered model and maybe even a COE (center of excellence) to meet their specific needs. “2016 is expected to be the year of digital transformations where enterprise collaboration will play a major part in achieving these goals,” he pointed out. In today’s time business thrive by constantly generating innovative ideas and ideas can only pan out when employees, at all levels interact with each other. Hence, embracing enterprise social is no more an option for CIOs.
