Do you want to plan your day, using the metro train and need to know the timings and connectivity, the direction of commute and what is there in and around the place where you want to get off at?

Well, as a solution to this, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) has developed an app called TSavaari, which is now available on Android and iOS platforms on AWS Cloud.

The app is an integrated transportation solution, which uses the inbuilt Journey Planner Foundation and Journey Planner Integrated Transport Experience algorithms with email/SMS notifications.

“TSavaari provides information about Metro stations across Hyderabad, besides the timings, distance and directions to reach nearby metro stations using Google Maps,” says Anirban Sinha, Head –IT, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad).

To further make it convenient for passengers, the app is integrated with other commuting options such as OLA, autos, TSRTC (Local Bus), and MMTS (Local Trains). We are also planning to integrate it with parking lots and other modes of transport as part of Last Mile Connectivity in the coming days using their APIs. The platform provides information for transport convergence solutions for all metro passengers from any location in Hyderabad.

Beyond the metro

“To further make it convenient for passengers, the app is integrated with other commuting options such as OLA, autos, TSRTC (Local Bus), and MMTS (Local Trains). We are also planning to integrate it with parking lots and other modes of transport as part of Last Mile Connectivity in the coming days using their API’s. This enables passengers to use multi-modal public transport for convenience and seamless connectivity including the last mile connectivity,” Sinha added.

TSavaari allows passengers to register for buying/recharging Metro card (Nebula) online using the app. The payment can be done using credit card, debit card, payment wallets and internet banking.

Additionally, passengers can have a quick glance at all facilities, parking, neighborhood and catchment areas available at each station, along with metro train timings and associated transport modes.

The app also works as a social platform as it informs the commuter about others looking for transport in the same direction. It helps them connect with one another to share the transport/cost leading to reduction of carbon footprints and contributing to the Go Green Initiative.

Marketing platform for companies

Also, the app functions as a CRM tool, being a point of customer acquisition along with customer segmentation. It provides an alternate source of collecting customer feedback/suggestions on improvement of metro services. This serves as a marketing initiative that will further improve app usage while making it a platform for promoting offers and discounts from well-known brands. The app has been downloaded 1,30,000 times since the partial opening of the Hyderabad Metro.
