INOX has put in place interactive kiosks at their cinemas to help customers browse through the movies, watch trailers, purchase tickets, food and beverages. With the help of automated box offices, customers can browse, choose and pay for tickets on the interactive screen. “The most prominent characteristic and critical aspect of digital is not the shift in technology but the shift in customer behavior. Cinemas are more than just movie watching today. These are experience centers – extended arms of an enterprise’s digital touch-points. INOX integrated innovative digital experiences to ensure a connected and engaging cinema experience,” says Jitender Verma, CIO, INOX. Paperless service Customers can walk straight to the auditorium and save time by flashing QR Code at the entrance. For the convenience of customers, there is also an IoT service in INSIGNIA auditoriums, which helps them to call for service right from their recliner seats. Also, they can pay through the contactless credit/debit cards or NFC-enabled payment systems for a smooth and hassle-free transaction. Customers can also order food from INOX mobile application while watching the movie. One can pick up their food from the counter without standing in a queue, thereby saving time. One can also opt to get the food delivered to their seats. In addition to all this, INOX also rolled out India’s first laser projection screen that gives superior image quality with higher contrast. The outcome According to INOX, its customers experience a superior movie experience through laser projectors and automated kiosks. It serves as a great platform for brand enhancement and advertising. The digitalization technology has resulted in faster transaction time and increased tickets, food and beverages sales for INOX. “INOX Leisure has set a benchmark in the way patrons experience cinema and we believe that going forward, technological innovations have the potential to be an important differentiator for INOX,” said Jitender Verma.
