No problem, hereu2019s how you can enable Rest Finger to Open in iOS 10 so you can unlock your device with Touch ID. iOS 10 has some great new features and changes in it. But one of the more controversial and potentially annoying ones involves requiring the user to press the Home button to unlock their iOS 10 device. Some iPhone and iPad users simply don’t like having to press the Home button to unlock their devices. It’s an extra step that some people would much rather avoid. If you’re one of the folks that doesn’t like pressing the Home button to unlock your device, don’t worry. In this how-to I’ll show you how to enable Rest Finger to Open, and you’ll never have to press the Home button to unlock your iOS 10 device again. How to enable Rest Finger to Open in iOS 10 To enable Rest Finger to Open in iOS 10, just do the following: 1. Open the Settings app. 2. Tap on General. 3. Tap on Accessibility. 4. Tap on Home Button. 5. Tap the Rest Finger to Open switch to the on position. Now you won’t have to press your Home button to unlock your iPhone or iPad while running iOS 10. You can unlock your device with Touch ID the same way you did with iOS 9. Should you enable Rest Finger to Open in iOS 10? Some of you might be wondering if you should enable Rest Finger to Open or not. Like many other iOS options, it’s very much an individual decision. Some folks hate having to press the Home button while others simply could not care less. Before I wrote this article, I didn’t have Rest Finger to Open on to unlock my iPhone 6s Plus. But once I enabled it, I found that it was indeed much faster and more convenient than having to press the Home button. If you aren’t sure whether or not you should use Rest Finger to Open on your iOS 10 device, my recommendation is to enable it and see if you like it or not. If you don’t like it, it takes just a few seconds to turn it back off.
