Mac gamers have some great games to play already in 2016, but there’s lots more on the way. Check out some of the best games of 2016 for the Mac. Despite what some critics seem to think, the Mac is a decent gaming platform for most casual gamers. While it may not have quite as many games as Windows, the Mac still offers gamers some great gaming experiences. Mac Gamer HQ has a list of the best Mac games of the year so far, and there’s definitely some fun stuff to play: Every year, Mac gaming gets better, and 2016 is no exception. First of all, there’s the sheer quantity of new games released (did you know there are over 3,000 Mac games on Steam now?). Then there’s the high quality of the best games for Mac released so far. The year is far from over, but 2016’s best Mac games are already impressive. Plus, the games planned for the remainder of the year are just as exciting. You tend to get better FPS, as it has DirectX.” Ricmgmr: “Yes, performance wise Bootcamp will be better (always is). But many find it annoying to switch to Windows to play games (I know I do). ” Vorsos: “Some cross-platform games are optimized for Windows first (Dreamfall Chapters, Defense Grid 2). Others have roughly equivalent performance. If the system requirements ask OS X users for a graphics card twice as powerful as Windows users, then yes.” ThePinpal614: “Tomb Raider 2013 runs at 1080p Ultra in Windows for me at 90–100fps then switch over to the mac version and the game (which maxes out at medium settings) and I’m getting 20–35fps, I don’t think that game supports Metal but still, that is kind of appalling.” HerrVoennchen: “Since I’m a civilization fan, I think civ 6 will be on that list in fall. ;)” Ricmcgmr: “It’s already in the list (in the “coming soon” section). Love Civ games. If Civ 6 makes it at the same time as on Windows, then game of the year right there for me.” More at Reddit Ark: Survival Evolved looks pretty good As I was looking through the list of upcoming games, I noticed Ark: Survival Evolved. The game is still in beta as I write this post, but it looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Who wouldn’t want to hunt dinosaurs while fighting to survive on a mysterious island?
