Sexism is dead! Phew!

We all can breathe a collective sigh of relief, because sexism is dead. So says 56 percent of men in a recent Pew Center Research Poll.

Yup, that’s right. Just ask men. Because when you ask women, they clearly give the “wrong” answer; 63% of women surveyed think that sexism is still a problem, according to the research.

But what do they know? I mean, women can’t even answer simple job interview questions — according to this Breitbart poll from July which asserts (really! It’s in the headline!) that there’s no inherent bias in tech, women just suck at interviewing.

“Sure, women still don’t earn as much as men, we don’t have paid parental leave, men threaten to rape us if they disagree with our opinions on the internet, we are still viewed as bodies first and people second, and powerful men want to take away our control over our uteruses, but at least we have a female candidate for President!” says Meredith Bland, in a blog post for ScaryMommy. And we did finally get representation in emojis, right? What the hell are we even complaining about?

What’s also interesting is that it’s not just the older generation making these assumptions — it turns out, millennial men are just as sexist, if not more so, than their fathers’ generation, according to Harvard Business Review. Which means they’re not sexist at all, right?

I don’t know about you, ladies, but I’m going to stop worrying my pretty little head about this, kick my shoes off and get back into the kitchen, because I think I need to make someone a sandwich.
