Although in the case of Hurd, Allred appears to be taking a much less aggressive approach than in the Woods' scandal, in which client and alleged Woods mistress Joslyn James and Allred held a press conference condemning the golfer immediately following his own notorious apology press statement.

Allred's office on Sunday issued a press release on behalf of Jodie Fisher, a former HP contractor who filed the sexual harassment case against Hurd that led to the resignation announcement slipped out by HP late Friday afternoon (which was followed by about a 10% drop in HP stock in after-hours trading).

Fisher stated:

"I was surprised and saddened that Mark Hurd lost his job over this. That was never my intention."

Fisher, who worked for HP at high-level customer and executive events in the U.S. and abroad, went on to emphasize that the married Hurd and she "never had an affair or intimate sexual relationship." She first met Hurd in 2007.

Fisher, who has acted in TV shows and movies, said in the public press release: "I have resolved my claim with Mark privately, without litigation, and I do not intend to comment on it further."

Hurd's resignation shocked the industry, which has widely praised his turnaround of the company since taking over as CEO in 2005 (though some are now taking a closer look at just how much Hurd helped the company).

Though like Woods, Hurd shouldn't be hurting for money any time soon: He walks away from HP with a severance package that reportedly includes $12 million in cash and $16 million in stock.
