RIM BlackBerry Tour 9630 (Verizon) $99 on Amazon

The brand new BlackBerry Tour 9630 from Verizon Wireless is already available for half-price on Amazon.com.

Research In Motion's (RIM) hot new smartphone, the BlackBerry Tour 9630, which was just released in the United States last weekend, is already on sale for the discounted price of $99.99 on Amazon.com, along with a new, two-year service agreement. That's a steal considering both Verizon Wireless and Sprint, the two U.S. Tour carriers, are asking double that for the flashy BlackBerry.

The Tour 9630 that's listed for $100 on Amazon--including shipping--is the Verizon version, so Sprint customers interested in the Tour will have to pay the full $199.99, along with a new service contract. But it shouldn't be long before Sprint's Tour gets a price cut, as well.

The Tour 9630 is a business-oriented device with combination of features and styling from RIM's existing Curve 8900 and Bold 9000 devices. It's significant because the Tour is the first "new" U.S. CDMA BlackBerry for more than a year--not counting the Storm and Pearl Flip, neither or which have a full, "physical" keyboard, and the Curve 8350i, which is really just a revamped Curve 83xx.
