How to turn off Auto-Correction in iOS 9 if it's annoying you and slowing down your typing Auto-Correction is one of those features in iOS 9 that most people tend to either love or hate. When it works well it can be a big time-saver, but when it doesn’t it can be a huge headache since it forces you to fix the Auto-Correction changes made by iOS 9. In this tip I’ll show you how you can quickly disable Auto-Correction in iOS 9. Scroll down and tap on Auto-Correction to turn it off. And that’s it, now you won’t have to deal with Auto-Correction changing words while you are typing emails, messages, etc. You may find that your ability to type words is actually faster without Auto-Correction being on, but if you find you need it you can easily turn it back on. Note also that you can also turn off Auto-Capitalization on the same screen as Auto-Correction. It’s right above it on the list, and Check Spelling can also be disabled on that menu. It might be a good idea to try disabling all three to see if you can live without any of them. My own experiences with Auto-Correction in iOS 9 I mentioned earlier that Auto-Correction is kind of a love/hate thing, and that’s definitely been my own experience. Occasionally it has saved me some time and effort, but quite often I have found that it actually slowed down my ability to communicate on my iPhone or iPad. Auto-Correction can be particularly annoying when you are trying to respond quickly to a text message or email. You start typing your response only to find that Auto-Correction has made a mistake and inserted some other word than the one you meant. Ugh! Now you have to fix the mistake before you can continue typing your message. That brief pause to fix an Auto-Correction mistake might not seem like much, but it disrupts your thoughts and irritates you at the same time. So instead of just finishing your message, you end up cursing at the stupidity of the Auto-Correction feature. Don’t get me wrong here, I understand that some people probably really like Auto-Correction on their iPads or iPhones, but it’s not something that has ever worked very well for me. If it works for you then great, enjoy it. But I prefer to have it off on my iOS devices so it doesn’t slow me down or annoy me when I’m trying to communicate with someone. Did you miss a post?
