New CIOs for the Summer

Ah, summer. A time to slow down and relax.   Not for CIOs on the move! Halfway through the third quarter, we are seeing a large number of CIO appointments across most major sectors.  No sleeping in a hammock for these CIOs. There is work to be done!

Southern Company

Martin Davis recently joined Southern Company as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, filling the role that was previously held by Kenny Coleman.

Micron Technology appointed Trevor Schulze to the role of its first-ever Chief Information Officer. Trevor was previously Vice President, Corporate Enterprise Applications with Broadcom Corp.

Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. – a division of Hertz Global – has appointed Rich Marani as Chief Information Officer.

Kevin Barnes was named CIO, Senior Vice President with Ferguson Enterprises.

Ray DeLuke recently joined L-3 Communications as Vice President of Information Technology & Chief Information Officer. 

Florida Blue named Sal Calta as Interim CIO, as Prudence Kuai has left the company.

Foot Locker appointed Pawan Verma as SVP and CIO. Pawan succeeds Peter Brown, who retired after 38 years with the company.

Molly Mulroy was named Vice President and Chief Information Officer at WEC Energy following the acquisition of Integrys. Previously, Molly served as Chief Information Officer at We Energies.

NiSource named Magnus Borg as Chief Information Officer. Magnus will take the position previously held by Violet Sistovaris, who was promoted to a different role.

Kindred Healthcare’s Charlie Wardrip recently transitioned from Chief Technology Officer to the role of Senior VP & Chief Information Officer following the departure of Scott Blanchette.

Juniper Networks announced the appointment of Bob Worrall to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Bob was previously with Nvidia.

Anthony Bender was named CIO & Vice President Global Business Services for Edgewell Personal Care, following its split from Energizer Holdings.

Richard Primus recently joined Penn National Gaming as SVP, Chief Information Officer. He was previously with The Hershey Company.

Upinder Phanda was promoted to Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Unisys, following the departure of Suresh Mathews.

Bob Weir joined the University of Massachusetts – Boston as Vice Provost for IT and Chief Information Officer.

Schneider National promoted Shaleen Devgun from VP, Strategy, Planning & Solution Delivery to EVP & CIO. Shaleen fills the role previously held by Judy Lemke, who recently retired.

Dawn Kirchner-King joined Armstrong World Industries as the firm’s new Chief Information Officer.

Acosta Sales & Marketing appointed Dilip Lillaney to the Chief Information Officer role, a position previously held by Mark Chaffin.

David Trimm has recently joined Wendy’s Company as CIO following the departure of Don Zimmerman.

Manish Tomar has joined Grant Thornton as Chief Information Officer. He was previously with Computer Sciences Corporation.

Ginna Raahauge joined Informatica Corp. as Senior Vice President and CIO. She was most recently CIO for Riverbed Technology.

Scott Ranson joined Hanger, Inc. as CIO.  He comes to Hanger with 14 years’ experience as the CIO for Brookdale Senior Living Inc.

Barney Debnam was named CIO for DuPont Pioneer, following the retirement of Lane Arthur. Previously, Debnam served as the company’s CIO, Crop Protection & Global DuPont Digital Marketing.

Mike Barker was promoted to SVP and Chief Information Officer at Extreme Networks following the departure of David Hume. Previously, Mike was Vice President, Global Systems Engineering at the company.

Frank Fear recently took over as Chief Information Officer following the departure of Keith Grantham at Covenant Healthcare. Previously, Frank was Vice President, Ancillary Services & CIO at Memorial Healthcare.

Rural/Metro recently named Jason L’Odense as the company’s new Chief Information Officer, Fire Operations following the departure of Chris Yearout.

Water Street Healthcare Partners, a strategic investor focused exclusively on the health care industry, announced that it appointed Paul T. Cottey as Chief Information Officer.

Moudy Elbayadi joined LifeLock as Chief Information Officer, following the departure of Rich Stebbins.

Peter Dougherty was named Vice President and Chief Information Officer with East Jefferson General Hospital.

Joey Sudomir was named Chief Information Officer for Texas Health Resources.

Intermedix Corporation has hired Jack Hemmert as Chief Information Officer

Kent Gross is now Chief Information Officer with BWX Technologies, following the split of Babcox & Wilcox.

Paul Chapman joined Box as CIO. Previously, he was with HP Software.

S&T Bancorp promoted Jim Mill to the newly created role of Executive Vice President and CIO.

American Driveline Systems – the parent company of AAMCO Transmissions – announced that Chad Graham was appointed Chief Information Officer.

Gene Wojciechowski recently joined Newgistics as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Previously, Gene was with Staples and was the CIO of Walmart.com.

Fabian Gomez joined Westwood Holdings as Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer. He was previously with Invesco.

Hebrew Senior Life named Peter Ingram Chief Information Officer, following the departure of Fran Hinckley.

Stephen DePooter recently joined Norwegian American Hospital as VP of Technology and Chief Information Officer.

Kristopher Kovacs has recently been promoted to SVP, Chief Information Officer with Coastal Federal Credit Union.

Ed Gemo recently joined Halozyme Therapeutics as the company’s new Vice President and Chief Information Officer.

Integrated DNA Technologies named Anup Khattar as the new Senior VP & Chief Information Officer following the departure of Aaron Warner.

Yvonne Wassenaar was promoted from Senior VP, Operations to the newly-created role of Chief Information Officer at New Relic.

Denise Taylor is now the Chief Information Officer for Westfield. Previously, Taylor served as Chief Information Officer at AEG Worldwide

Sandip Mohapatra was named the new SVP Operations & CIO for Vesta Corporation.

Tippu Gagguturu was promoted from Senior Vice President, Application Development to Chief Information Office with Allconnect.

Merz North America recently hired Jim Zemonek as Executive Director, Head of IT/CIO Americas. Previously, Jim was with Salix Pharmaceutical.

Todd Januzzi recently joined Paramount Group as SVP, Chief Information and Technology Officer.

Pico Quantitative Trading hired as its first CIO Paul Cassell, president of PC IT Consulting Inc., and a former CIO of NYSE Euronext.

Eric Hanson recently joined TrustCommerce as Chief Information Officer

Columbia Pipeline Group – recently separated from NiSource – promoted Matt Fahnestock from Vice President, IT Services Delivery to SVP, Chief Information Officer.

Curt Garner, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Starbucks, has joined Aerohive’s Board of Directors.
