Martha Heller shares her latest list of IT executives who were recently promoted or hired into new CIO positions. LinkedIn Smithfield Foods’ Julia Anderson Summer is just about over, and the official start of fall is right around the corner. The shorter days, however, are no match for the number of new CIO appointments that took place during the last few weeks of the third quarter. And they show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Smithfield Foods announced that Julia Anderson, former vice president of global applications at H.J. Heinz Company, is Smithfield’s global CIO. Marsh & McLennan Companies appointed E. Scott Gilbert to the newly created role of CIO. He was previously the company’s chief risk and compliance officer, will continue to report to President and CEO Dan Glaser, and will also continue to serve on the executive committee. Mike Lechtenberger was promoted from senior vice president, IS applications, to CIO of Mutual of Omaha. Royal Caribbean Cruises named Michael Giresi as CIO. Giresi was most recently CIO for Tory Burch. Don Goin recently re-joined Santander Consumer USA as CIO. Don previously served as CIO for the company from 2006 to 2011. Verisk Analytics announced that Nick Daffan, CIO of Verisk’s Argus business, was promoted to senior vice president and CIO for Verisk Analytics. Michelle Johnson was promoted from CIO of Freeman’s audio visual division to senior vice president and CIO. Volt Information Sciences hired Chuck Sperazza as CIO. Chuck was previously the CIO with Nature’s Sunshine Products. REI recently promoted Julie Averill from vice president, IT, to the newly-created role of CIO. Rich Adduci accepted the role of global CIO with National Grid. Rich was formerly with Boston Scientific. Methodist Healthcare hired Mark McMath as senior vice president and CIO. Previously, Mark served as vice president and CIO of University Indiana Health. UMB Financial announced the appointment of Jig Patel as executive viceo president and CIO. NuVasive appointed Johnson Lai as CIO, effective August 31. Sheh Bertram joined Bank of Hawaii as senior executive vice president and CIO. She was most recently the CTO for Zions Bancorp. Matthew Hall was appointed associate vice chancellor for IT and CIO at the University of California Santa Barbara, effective September 22. Joe Magrady is now senior vice president, CIO with Vertafore. Previously, he was vice president, IT operations at American Express. Keith Perry was named senior vice president and CIO at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Formerly, he was associate vice president and deputy CIO of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Chris Shigley is now the first CIO for Mannington Mills. He was previously the vice president of IT with II-VI Inc. Vinod Nair has joined Milgard Manufacturing as CIO and vice president of IT. He was previously with Assa Abloy. Mark Chaffin joined SGS International as CIO. Mark was previously the CIO for Acosta Sales & Marketing. Quarles & Brady named Rich Raether as CIO. Previously, Rich directed the firm’s security and network services team. Forcht Group of Kentucky named Greg Horsman the CIO. Previously, Greg was the vice president, infrastructure, security and systems support for Southern Graphic Systems. Ajay Kumar was appointed CIO and head of technology with KeyPoint Credit Union. Paul Holden was named CIO with ESIS, which is part of ACE Group. Darren Solanki joined Dover Federal Credit Union as CIO. Gant Travel Management announced the appointment of Jenni Murer as CIO. Jenni was previously with Cornerstone Information Systems. Dave Henderson was named CIO with Epic Sciences. He was formerly the CIO with Sequenom. And finally, Exelon announced that it elected Linda Jojo, executive vice president and CIO for United Airlines, to its board of directors.
