The first quarter has seen a number of new appointments Like the spring flowers that are bound to pop up any day here in the Northeast, newly hired and promoted CIOs have recently been cropping up all over the place. CUNA Mutual CUNA Mutual named Tim Peterson as their new CIO. The former Wellmark CIO is now the head of CUNA Mutual’s information technology organization. Norwegian Cruise Line has named Benny Lago as Chief Information Officer. This follows the company’s recent merger with Prestige Cruise Lines. Benny will oversee the development and integration of IT infrastructure for the company’s domestic and international offices. Margot Sharapova was hired as CIO by OptumRx, a division of UnitedHealth Group. Prior to joining OptumRx, Margot was VP & CIO, Americas with AECOM as well as CIO, Medical Diagnostics with GE Healthcare. David Meyer, formerly Global Director, SAP IT with Invista, joined Graybar Electric Company as Vice President and Chief Information Officer, responsible for IT infrastructure, security, application development and technology innovation. Elevate Services, a cloud services provider to law firms, has hired Howard Phillips as its first CIO. Howard was previously CIO with LeClairRyan, and will work to strengthen Elevate’s information security systems. Orbital ATK recently finalized the merger between Orbital Sciences and Alliant Techsystems and Ken Bell, previously the CIO of Orbital Sciences, has assumed the role of Chief Information Officers for the company’s combined IT department. Digital Realty Trust, Inc., a leading global provider of data center and colocation solutions, announced on April 8 that Michael Henry has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. As of April 7, Martin Howard has been named CIO of Amedisys Inc., a home nursing provider operating in 37 states. His appointment is one of several senior leadership changes at Amedisys. Martin was previously with Deloitte. Martin O’Reilly has joined public relations company Edelman as Global Chief Information & Technology Officer. Previously, Martin was CIO at Burson-Marsteller. Earlier this month, Vava Diamond, who has been acting CIO since September 2014, was named Chief Information Officer at Hub Group. In this role, Vava is responsible for IT services and strategy across the company. Brad Rable was named Chief Information Officer with Stewart Title Company, replacing Murshid Khan. Brad was formerly an executive partner with Gartner Inc. Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center named Dee Emon as Vice President and Chief Information Officer, replacing Chad Eckes, who was promoted to EVP and CFO. Dee joined the company in spring of 2014. McCormick & Company has promoted Ken Thomas from Vice President, Global IT to Chief Information Officer. Thomas succeeds Jerry Wolfe, who recently left the company. In late March, IKEA promoted Michael Laursen from Manager, Global IT to Group Chief Information Officer, filling the role previously held by Paolo Cinelli, who has transitioned out of the IT department. Also in late March, luxury home builder Toll Brothers promoted John Critikos from Vice President, Process Engineering to SVP, Chief Information Officer. Paul Fipps was recently promoted from Vice President, Global Operations to Chief Information Officer at performance apparel retailer Under Armour. Dunkin’ Brands Group promoted Jack Clare from CIO to Chief Information and Strategy Officer. Jack had previously held the CIO title with Dunkin’ Brands for the past three years, and will now be a member of the Dunkin’ Brands Leadership Team. Brad Cowles, formerly Vice President, Information Technology at HD Supply (Waterworks) was promoted to Vice President, Chief Information Officer. He joined the company in September of 2005. Atria Senior Living Group, the nation’s fourth largest assisted living owner-operator, has named Ali Sareea as Chief Information Officer. Natural foods retailer Sprouts Farmers Market named Daniel Bruni as CIO. Previously, he was VP, Information Technology at Dollar General. Durgesh Sharma was promoted from VP, Global Information & Technology Services to Chief Information Officer with Colliers International in March.
