Intel Launches Dual-Core Chips for Servers

Better late than never, Intel has started shipping its multiprocessors with two computing engines on a single chip. An Associated Press article on Boston.com reports that despite its lateness the dual-core chip did come out months earlier than expected. The Xeon chips promise up to a 50 percent improvement over systems with two single-core processors, and is on the scene six months after a similar chip offered by AMD. Read more.
