Sanyo to Speed Up Job Cuts

Japanese electronics maker Sanyo said it would change gears to complete two-thirds of its job cuts by January 2006. Boston.com reports that while speeding up job cuts, it would also exit its DVD player, DVD recorder and VCR business. Sanyo’s original plan proposed cutting 14,000 jobs, about 15 percent of its global work force, as part of a restructuring move by March 2008. Read more.
