In Age of Notebooks, Desktops Still Rule Sales

Even in the age of mobility, with wireless Internet connections promising to hook up entire cities, desktop computers outsell laptops by more than two to one.  The Wall Street Journalcites Gartner as the source for second quarter results showing sales of 34 million desktops and 13.8 million laptops. The Journal quotes from a report by Endpoint Technologies Associates predicting that “those vendors able to ride the wave of technological developments and changing economics to create a newly relevant desktop form-factor stand to inherit what will still be a major market, even a decade from now.” Read more.
