An industry group that represents government contractors, called the Coalition for Government Procurement, has formed an organization that will address technology and telecommunications convergence, Federal Computer Week (FCW) reports.

The Council on Telecommunications-Technology Convergence’s (CTTC) mission is to merge companies that provide technologies crucial to the convergence of IT and telecommunications, FCW said.  The council will serve as the contact between companies and the government, fostering ongoing dialogue between the two on related issues like procurement and planning.

With the assistance of the Washington Management Group, CTTC will manage the coalition, FCW said.

CTTC membership cost $35,000 a year.
