Federal Computer Week (FCW) reported earlier this week that the CTO of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is moving to the Interior Department. Edward Meagher (pictured at left) , who has served as CTO of the VA since December 2005, will take on the deputy CIO post at the Interior Department on February 19. A former VA CIO, John Gauss, was named president and COO of FGM, a high-tech company based in Reston, Va, according to FCW. Gauss served as the VA’s CIO from 2001 to 2003. GTESS appointed James Bradley to its board of directors. Bradley served as the CIO of United HealthCare in the 1990s. During his tenure, United HealthCare won an Enterprise Value Award from CIO for an artificial intelligence-based system. Bradley is currently working with Northrop Grumman and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to develop a prototype infrastructure for a national health information network.
