Microsoft has set a tentative release date for its third service pack for Windows XP, eWeek reports. The date—mid-to-late 2007—is markedly later than was expected. While the company noted the date was “preliminary,” many customers and analysts, among others, are phased because that date is as much as a year later than they’d anticipated.The release date was published on Microsoft’s Windows Lifecycle website.
